I love New York, almost as much as I love a good burger!  So I had to take the opportunity to check out by CHLOE’s famed vegan burgers.  by CHLOE has a couple of restaurants with more planned in SOHO, Rockefeller Plaza and Willamsburg and has a menu packed with plant-based goodness. We bypassed the salad and pasta options and went straight for the burgers. My partner in crime opted for The classic which consisted of a tempeh, lentil, chia and walnut burger with onions, pickles, beetroot ketchup and special sauce in a potato bun.   I took the Guac burger, a black bean, quinoa, sweet potato burger with a corn salsa, guacamole, tortilla strips, chipotle aioli in a whole grain bun.  Both burgers were sensational, filling, super tasty and with the right balance of spice.  I really want to try and recreate these burgers when I get home,  particularly the Guac burger as I love anything even remotely connected to Mexican food.  We washed the burgers down with seasonal lemonade, which was fresh, zingy and limey. My only disappointment was the sweet potato fries, which lacked seasoning and were a little undercooked.  However the extra beetroot ketchup, which you can help yourself to, improved the situation!

Even though we arrived in the middle of the lunch rush and there was a queue to the door, we got our food quickly.  I was  particularly impressed that employees were speeding up the wait by taking orders and payments via iPads from the queue.  I would have loved to try the vegan ice cream on offer, roasted banana bourbon anyone??? but we were both too stuffed to manage.  Overall I would definitely recommend by CHLOE, especially if you are looking for some vegan fast food or snacks to go.
